I got to know Nivel from my sister’s colleague where she had engaged him for 2 times for her homes. Experience with him was amazing. He will understand my needs for my new home and will work with me to plan on the renovation ideas. He will give his honest views on what works well on the shelving, flooring, lightings etc. he will follow through on the contractors and the renovation work and I do not need to worry much on the progress. To be honest, we met a few IDs prior to Artspaze and each and being in this industry, the ones we met had great ideas and concepts. Why we ended up taking from Artspaze was due to our Designer Nivel. He is transparent and straightforward with his plans and prices. Things that are not necessary or could potentially increase the cost of renovation, he advise us to not waste our money and provide a more cost effective alternative. During the entire renovation process, Nivel would constantly send us pictures and updates on the progress. The actual design of our house is similar to the 3d design he shown us as well, which is quite remarkable. Some of the IDs prior to Artspaze did say that the manpower due to COVID-19 is very limited hence are unable to commit to our request to complete before CNY 2021. Nivel told us that they were able to complete it and no additional costs were required in which they really did manage to complete 2-3 weeks before CNY itself. In times like this, lets support local SMEs, especially outstanding ones like Artspaze.

Working with Nivel from Artspaze was fun brainstorming since its all our first time building a cat playground which was safe and suitable for us and our cat at our Overall budget was close to our initial projection. Nivel provided a balance between practicality and aesthetics. The project timeline was realistic, even though there were some rectification work involved, the handover date was met eventually.

We engaged Nivel as our ID for our first home. Being over 30 years old, the apartment came with its own set of problems — but Nivel came through for us. After hearing many horror stories about the local renovation industry, I’m glad that Nivel made this project feel like a walk in the park. As a designer myself, and after engaging a local Feng Shui consultant, I constructed a series of mood and concept boards. The toughest part, in my opinion, was the alleyway corner leading into the TV console area. I had a hard time designing that corner, but Nivel achieved it by seamlessly matching the elements to allow the design to flow unobstructed into the living room. This takes refined design taste to pull off. The apartment also had a unique color requirement due to Feng Shui, but Nivel suggested a neutral “furball” color to unify the theme of the entire house, with pops of color to be added later through furniture. This fit perfectly with my vision of minimalism — like a blank canvas for us to creatively paint on in the future. Nivel helped us build most of the structure while adding refined details such as the sintered stone in the kitchen, which matched beautifully with our stone-textured dining table. His approach to minimalism, with subtle and non-overpowering details, is exactly my style. Nivel also did a fantastic job with the cove lighting. I made a very rough sketch, and he took it from there, ensuring it fit the overall home theme. The result is like a giant art canvas serving as a backdrop for the dining area, with lighting that reflects off the floor to make the space feel larger than it actually is. Nicely done! Nivel’s coordination with all the contractors was prompt, and any changes we requested were handled in an orderly fashion. I’m very detail-focused, and I’m glad Nivel was patient with us. His passion for his craft shows clearly in this project — and yet he remained practical, ensuring everything stayed feasible within our budget. All in all, this was a job well done. Like any project, there were hiccups along the way, but nothing that couldn’t be solved with communication and empathy — and Nivel’s team demonstrated exactly that. Big thanks!

I came to Nivel for help with renovating a kitchen that was humid and rotting due to a sink leakage which spread to my cabinets. Nivel was very helpful. He worked according to my tight schedule and changing requests. He was also patient in explaining certain concepts to me. In the process, he helped locate hard-to-find materials and also provided advice for cost savings. The workmen were respectful and tried their best to provide a clean space for me since I was still living there while renovation works were ongoing.
